It’s difficult for me to recall a time when tunes of The Great American Songbook were not part of my life. Even while worshiping the likes of Allen Freed, Cousin Brucie and Wolfman Jack, I still couldn’t resist the great Big Band sounds of Miller, the Dorseys, and Count Basie to name a few. Along with the different styles of vocal groups like The Four Freshman, Modernairs, Pied Pipers and of course the memorable mellow tones of The Mills Brothers, were the vast numbers of recording artists like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, Julie London and my all-time favorite Nat King Cole.
I delight in having the opportunity to perform melodies of The Great American Songbook and have provided a variety of recordings throughout the website. By design my selections are Mainstream, Volume Controlled so as to be part of the occasion and not an obstruction to conversation. I invite you to tour my website and listen to my Selections. Thank you for taking the time to look into Music By Doc and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
